![]() ![]() since the GOG version is a release number behind (being 1.5, where Steam is on 1.6) my thought is that you broke something with 1.6. I've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with VC Redistributables, I've tried every possible combination of having this and FG installed (before I refunded FG on steam), I've tried running every version in admin mode, the level editor/mod tools in the steam folder work for some reason but that doesn't help me play the game at all. I can't launch the client from the steam folder itself either. No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall this client, it will not run: I hit Play, steam acts like it's trying to start up the game, but then nothing happens and the button goes right back to saying "play". I'm not even gonna be getting FG on steam at this point but it would be nice if I could get the multiplayer client working at least, since that one isn't on GOG. I have the main game and both expansions on GOG and they work just fine, but both fallen god and versus edition refuse to download right on this platform or something. Their heroes are also very annoying to play against. What it says in the title, the version on steam is broken and no matter what I try I cannot get this client to run on steam. Thankfully, their buildings are very cheap and it's easy to get their economy up and running. Their economy is focused a bit more on wood than stone but they still need a lot of both. They have a squishy but swarmy T1 unit that comes in bunches of 2 (3 with upgrade) at a time and have some very potent T2 units. As Orcs you have to expand big and expand fast, they excel at bigger maps where they can take more land. Orcs are green and mean, they don't have access to barracks but instead, have to recruit units from their sector centers. Their economy is focused on wood with some more stone usage later into the game, they have one of the best T1 units and shine in T2. Elves don't have to expand as much as other races and can play on a little bit fewer sectors than others. Their economy balances itself out, they have great T3 with access to a market where you can exchange resources for others. ![]() Humans can kinda do everything but don't specifically excel at anything. ![]() For a more detailed explanation, you should visit the Spellforce Discord but I'm gonna try my best: ![]()
